Letter from the Family of a Hannah’s House West Resident

I looked at several other facilities (and I do mean facilities), some large, some small, some very “corporate”.  I hoped to find my brother a “home” with long term staff, accessibility, a family atmosphere.  After several visits around town, I was not very optimistic that we’d find a place, at any price.

Then I found Hannah’s House West… I liked HHW upon entry, very welcoming and friendly.

D.’s bedroom is a perfect size- furniture is provided and we can decorate it to be “his room” as he pleases.  There are common rooms, including a family style dining and living room.  The meals were home cooked, with available activities and parties to celebrate holidays and current (sporting) events.

The team takes care of everything-- assisting or prompts for ADL’s including dressing, laundry, showers, cooking, meds dispensing/reorders, dishes, cleaning his room, and serving snacks!  I provide treats and spending money and visits.

HHW is very kind to D., staff care about him, giving him the care he needs and allowing him to do what he can do for himself.  His behaviors are responded to in a kind, caring way.  The team works to meet everyone’s needs, all with a smile.  Anytime my brother needs anything, or we needed to know anything, we were contacted by staff.  We liked that they approached us and my brother with common sense and concern for us, as individuals.

My brother has lived at HHW for nearly four years.  I hope he can live out his life here, with no more moves (even at end of life).  I’m sure you can find a cheaper place and many that are much more expensive- we felt that it is a very fair cost for all that they give to my bother.

I highly recommend Hannah’s House West, the management, the staff and the facilities.  A great option for your loved one.
